Goalkeeper Jak Alnwick is looking forward to potentially coming up against former teammate Adam Armstrong when Port Vale face Coventry City.
The Valiants make the trip down the M6 to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, kick off 3pm, in Sky Bet League One. Click here for ticket details.
Although Alnwick is a few years older than Armstrong, the duo have crossed paths a few times as part of Newcastle United’s Academy set-up.
Currently on loan with the Sky Blues, Armstrong has made a big impact in the third tier so far this season, scoring 13 goals.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD, Vale’s shot-stopper said: “It will be nice to see him, he’s shown he can score goals.
“Newcastle have done well in getting him out on loan nice and early and he is now proven that he can score goals and he brings something a bit different to League One.
“He’s got a lot of pace and he’s very good on the ball with both feet so he’s obviously a key man for them, scoring a lot of goals.
“We’re going to have to try and stop him.”
