Joe Davis aiming for play-offs
Vale defender Joe Davis says he and his teammates still have play-off ambitions and they all know they need to bounce back from the defeat at Gillingham and show what they can do against Saturday’s visitors, Swindon Town.
The Robins, not for the first time, inflicted a heavy defeat on the Vale when the two sides met earlier in the season at the County Ground, but that is all water under the bridge now.
“We are not going to roll over and settle for anything, we want to push on and get in the play offs if we can and to do that we need to improve a little bit. Davis said:
“We are looking forward to Saturday’s game against Swindon and we know it is going to be tough, but hopefully we can get a decent result.
“We need to do well away, we can’t just rely on just our home form, but I think we have done alright this season at home. We will be looking to carry that on right up until the end of the season.
“Swindon lost at the weekend so they will have a point to prove just as we do. We know what they are all about and we have always had tough games against them, even in League Two.
“It is going to be a tough game, but one that I think we can get something out of.”
