Micky feels the Pilgrims will be well motivated for Saturday's game

Plymouth Argyle come to Vale Park on Saturday without a manager after Carl Fletcher was sacked following their New Year’s Day defeat against Bristol Rovers.

Micky Adams doesn’t agree that it would give Vale any advantage at all, in fact he feels they may have something to prove when they arrive in Burslem.

He said: “I am sure there people in that dressing room who think they have got more of a chance now than they had before because they were out of favour with the old manager.

“They lost a game of football, they are not in the best of form and we have go to try and capitalise on that.

“I’m sure their team talk will be that the new manager may be in the stands looking at you, so go out there and do yourself a bit of good.

“But if it was as easy as that we would all do it. Confidence is a fragile thing in footballers so we have got to try and capitalise on their uncertainty and get back to winning ways and I have got every confidence that you will see a different side on Saturday.

“I will take a bit of responsibility for the performance on Tuesday because of the side I picked. I went with the side that had got a result down at Dagenham and it’s not an excuse, but the football computer did us no favours at all.

“We went to Rotherham, then down to Dagenham and then a home game and G=Fleetwood looked a lot sharper than us and I have got to give them credit for that.

“But they had two home games and then came down the road for an hour to play us. In hindsight – and hindsight is a wonderful thing – I should have changed the team.”
