DODDS SHRUGS OFF PENALTY MISS

He says the players are gearing up for Monday's game

Louis Dodds was keen to play down Tuesday night’s penalty miss with a bit of humour, but on a serious note says the lads are gearing up for Monday’s televised game against Oxford United.

He said: “The games can’t come fast enough at the moment. The boys are doing fantastic, the fans are enjoying it and we are enjoying it as well. We are looking forward to every game that comes along now.

“I wasn’t too surprised that we went through against opposition from a higher league the other night because we know we are good enough on the day.

“We are full of confidence and the lads feel we can beat anyone at the moment. We went into the game thinking they could win it and although it took a penalty shoot-out, I don’t think we looked out of place against Walsall.

“Everybody was talking about Sam Johnson after the game, but he is like that in training. He’s always pulling off brilliant saves, and fair play to him, he’s been teaching me how to take penalties this morning.

“We are looking forward to the game on Monday night now. We have changed the training days around a little bit so that it feels like a normal week and everybody will be raring to go.”
