Gaffer to give players forty-five minutes at Nantwich
Micky Adams was less pleased about the team’s performance against Stafford Rangers last night, but believes the players will have benefited from a fitness point of view.
He said: “To be honest I was a bit disappointed. I thought that the tempo of the game wasn’t right, particularly in the first half.
“We were going through the motions somewhat and it wasn’t until a few tackles started flying that we managed to pick the tempo of the game up.
“I thought the Ilkeston performance was everything that we wanted and the Stafford game was a little bit flat for some reason.
“I don’t think the referee helped too much to be honest. He failed to clamp down on one or two heavy tackles and once that happens, on both sides, it becomes a difficult game to manage.
“We got out of it what we wanted. The boys have got ninety minutes of football each. Hopefully we’ve got not too many injuries and now we move onto Nantwich.
“We’ve got one game on Friday night so we’ll probably give them all forty five minutes. They have done a fair bit of work this week with game time and training, so we’ll probably utilise the whole squad.
“Whilst we want team performances, what I am looking for now is individual performances as well. I want people to show me that they are ready and that they want to be picked for that first game.”
