Bodin has previously worked at fellow Sky Bet League One side Swindon Town and Premier League outfit Southampton, as well as alongside Page with Wales’ under-21s, and he has impressed the Vale boss with his coaching style.
Speaking to Valiant Player, Page expressed his delight at the appointment of his compatriot, which he says has been in the pipeline for a few months.
“I’m really pleased, it’s great news,” he said. “Paul has a wealth of experience, not only from playing at a good level but that transition in going into coaching at Swindon and taking over as manager there for a short-term period a couple of years back.
“Then he has recently been involved with Southampton’s set-up and we all know what the reputation they’ve got for developing the young lads coming through and how they play their football.
“So for me it’s been a great appointment and somebody that I tried to get in back in October when I first took over.”
