on Saturday. drew with MK Dons’s leading scorers as Port Vale Sky Bet League Onewas pleased to have helped secure a clean sheet against Neill CollinsDefender
Having come so close to shutting out Rochdale at Spotland Stadium on Easter Monday, the Valiants finally got their reward for a stern defensive performance against Karl Robinson’s men.
In fact, Rob Page’s side would have been worthy winners against the Dons, who were restricted to just a couple of attempts on goal in the entire 90 minutes.
Speaking to Valiant Player after the contest, Sheffield United loanee Collins agreed it was a good day at the office for Vale.
“Sometimes clean sheet can be a thin line between them missing a couple of chances, you get lucky,” he said.
“Today I don’t think there was a lot of luck involved, I think the whole team played and pressed very hard and we deserved, as a team, a clean sheet.
“The strikers deserved their reward as well for the hard work with a goal but they never got it, hopefully they’ll get it on Tuesday night.”
