Gaffer ready for testing game at Molineux

Micky Adams feels confident he can choice his players up after a disappointing performance and result against Crewe Alex last weekend ahead of the short trip to Molineux on Saturday.

Vale will go into the game against a side who have won their last six games hoping to upset the apple cart against all of the odds and as we have seen before, Micky Adams’ sides are always capable of doing just that.

He said: “We have to think carefully about what we are going to do at Wolves. They are a god side and if we go there and beat them it will be a coupon-buster, that’s for sure.

“We have to remain positive, get eleven lads out there and a shape and a disciplined performance if we can get one.

“Wolves are having the season that I thought they would have. I don’t think it is a great surprise that they are up there.

“They have got some good players, fantastic support, a great stadium we are going to go to on Saturday and we have got to motivate ourselves, no be fearful of it, but t embrace it and to go there and have a go and if we do that, great.

“We have certainly got to improve from what we did against Crewe because if we don’t we are going to get hammered.

“We want to show some enthusiasm for the game and be in the game for as long as we can. They have got some good players and if we sit off them and let them play I am sure that it will be an easy game for them.

“But as I said to my players on Saturday, we have built this football club since I have been here on hard work and enthusiasm and whilst we fall below those standards we become very average, and when I say average I am talking about getting relegated.

“This football club had a reputation before I got her of being a soft touch and an easy touch and that is not something that sits well with me or with our supporters.

“They get rightly disappointed when they see us not turn up and we don’t perform but as I have said many times before, it happens and we can’t keep apologising for it, we have got to move on, stick our chests out and have a go again.”
