We Take a look through the sides that we will come up against in League Two next season.
Who Are They?
Luton Town Football Club are based in Luton, Bedfordshire and play their home games at Kenilworth Road. Founded in 1885, they are nicknamed "the Hatters”.
The club's history includes major trophy wins, several financial crises, numerous promotions and relegations, and some spells of sustained success. Their most prominent part of their history took place between 1982 and 1992, when they were a member of English football's top division, at that time the First Division; the team won its only major honour, the Football League Cup, in 1988.
How Did They Perform Last Season?
Luton had a fine year last season, however, they would describe it as unsuccessful. Defeated in the semi-final of the Checkatrade Trophy to League One Oxford United and a defeat in the League Two play-off semi-final in extra time to Blackpool, to an own goal concluded their 2016/17 campaign in a sour fashion.
Our Last Meeting
The last meeting between the two teams came in the 2008/09 season and took place at Vale Park.
Vale began the scoring through John McCombe, however, a goal before half-time by Asa Hall made sure that the teams were level for the second half. Two goals in 10 minutes for Luton from Kevin Gallen and Chris Martin were enough for the Hatters to secure the three points.
How To Get There?
The 2 hour and 32 minute journey will take you onto the M1 South via the A50 and A500. Once on the M1, stay on there for 81 miles and then exit at junction 11 to Luton/Dunstable. Then the first exit at the roundabout will lead towards Kenilworth Road.
By Train
From Stoke-on-Trent to Luton, there will be a change at Derby, but then will go straight through to Luton Town Centre. From the station to the ground it is a 20 minute walk.
Odds On Promotion
After their impressive 2016/17 season, Luton are second favourites to win the league at odds of 9/1. For promotion, they are at odds of 2/1.
