Forward Pleased With Lilywhites Draw
.draw with Preston North Endthinks Port Vale were finally rewarded for all their hard work over the last few weeks with Friday night’s Tom PopeStriker
Rob Page’s players had to come from behind twice against Sky Bet League One’s second placed side and were forced to do so with just ten men after Richard Duffy was sent off.
The Valiants have been on the wrong end of last minute goals in two of their previous three games, against Rochdale and Scunthorpe United respectively.
Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player after the clash with Preston, 29-year-old Pope felt Vale had finally got what they deserved for all their efforts.
He said: “I think it’s what we’ve deserved. I think we’ve been very unlucky in the last couple of weeks to lose last minute winners and concede an equaliser the other night.
“So I think it’s just rewards for the hard work and effort the lads have been putting in over the last few weeks.”
