Things are starting to look up at Port Vale Football Club recently, as defender Joe Davis explains the reasoning behind the last few weeks.
The 24-year old joined The Valiants in the summer which would be his second spell at Vale Park. Now returning back from injury, Davis believes that there are number of things for the team’s recent success.
Speaking to the local media, he said: “Things are starting to look up now – especially after recent results
“We’re playing well and have that understanding between the lads at the moment. The management and staff seem to be working well at the moment, so if we keep that going as we get through a tricky period.
“We still have a couple of games to go through a tricky period but we look good physically, so there is no reason we can’t go and pick up a few more points.”
Speaking about the management team, Joe believes that the gaffer has had a huge effect on the recent performances which have allowed Vale to climb up the table.
“The gaffer has come in with new ideas along with the other staff,” said Davis.
“Brabs (Gary Brabin) and Lee Nogan have installed a good system. It’s taken a long time naturally with the new lads as we spend time with eachother to know how we play so it seems to have clicked.
“It’s that feeling now where we can’t wait for the next game, we’re looking forward to the future now and looking forward to picking results up against bigger sides.”
Davis believes that is just a general feel-good factor around Vale Park and is happy with the positivity amongst the rest of the squad.
“I’ve been here a while if you put all the years together and I’ve witnessed a lot of different things around the club,” he added
“It’s nice to have a settled camp and that is vital if we want to take it onto the pitch. It’s probably the best I’ve seen the supporters in a long time. The spirit between them and the performances on the pitch have really helped.
“If we keep going out and putting in good performances, the fans will be happy and we will get some more positive results.”
