Ryan Taylor Talks Debut

Last weekend, debutant Ryan Taylor showed Vale fans the experience and ability that he can bring into the side.

Well known for his delivery and set pieces, Taylor assisted the first goal for Rigino Cicilia and grabbed the equaliser himself from the spot.

Ryan was brought straight into the side after signing 24 hours before the game, having trained on the Friday with his new teammates.

During the first half, Vale went down 2-0 to Oxford United and this saw a position change for the new signing.

He said: “The manager said he wants me to put balls into the box and we didn’t really get the service into the box into the first half.

“It wasn’t working for some reason and then the manager took Calvin Mac-Intosch off and pushed me back to right back from the right wing.”

But the position change wasn’t one that would have come as much surprise to Taylor, having played the majority of his career in defence.

“I’m confortable at right back, right midfield and anywhere I just want to play football and enjoy it.

“It’s something I’ve wanted since the summer and after speaking to Michael Brown and Andy Smith I knew this was the right place for me to come.”
