Michael Brown Talks Ryan Taylor And Oxford

Last weekend saw Port Vale continue their impressive home form, as they came from behind to earn a point.

The Valiants have only lost once in the League at Vale Park, a key factor in the impressive league position as of late.

Vale completed a second half turn around within 15 minutes, as they went from 2-0 down to get level at 2-2 with goals from Rigino Cicilia and Ryan Taylor.

After the final whistle, Michael Brown spoke to Valiant Player and told how he thought the result was a fair reflection on the game.

He said: “I was delighted for us to be back in the game and when Ryan scored the penalty it was a great relief.

“Both sets of team they wanted to win it and we were going for the winner and it was wide open, but I think 2-2 was a fair result.”

The game was a key fixture for debutant Ryan Taylor, as he made his debut, scored the equaliser and assisted the first goal.

Taylor only joined on Friday and has had a lack of football game time over the past few months, but Brown was happy with the newest Vale recruit.

“It was always going to be difficult, he hadn’t played for so long and he only trained Friday so for him to play so much of the game was great.

“We saw some of his set play quality that he has and hopefully we can get him a bit fitter.

“He had some problems with his calf at the end so we took him off to protect him and it’s great to have him through the door with his experience and quality.”
