Bruno Ribeiro Reflects on Coventry Defeat

Port Vale’s 100% home record was ended on Saturday at the hands of the visiting Coventry City.

After the game, Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro spoke exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD about his team’s performance.

“I am very disappointed. I am sorry to the supporters and sorry to the chairman and to everybody because today we didn’t play.

“It is difficult to explain why, but tomorrow I will speak with the players to see what happened, because today we were bad. But this is football, and we need to change this mentality,” he continued.

Ribeiro opted to make two changes at the break in order to breathe some life into his below-par Vale team, here are his thoughts behind the changes:

“Well we were too slow in the first half and we needed to change things up in the second half. But unfortunately not much changed after the substitutions which is the way it is sometimes.”

He added: “But we need to keep going, and I will watch the game back tonight, speak with the players tomorrow and we will work on changing this mentality.”

Anton Forrester was one of those changes, returning from injury. Unfortunately, Forrester’s return ended pre-maturely after being substituted only minutes into the second half, with injury concerns:

“I’m very disappointed. When you lose a player for a month, for them to come back and get injured again, it’s disappointing. We need to speak about this because this is second time, and Antony de Freitas is the same. We need to see when these players are ready to come back into the team.”
