Despite being held by Bradford City, JJ Hooper enjoyed his first Port Vale start and hopes he’s done enough to keep his place in the side.
Jamie Proctor’s second half header cancelled out Ajay Leitch-Smith’s early goal to give the ten-man Bantams a share of the spoils.
Hooper was named in Rob Page’s starting XI for the first time since he joined the Club for the game against Phil Parkinson’s side.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD, the striker said he was pleased to have been out on the pitch from the beginning.
He commented. “It was nice, obviously I’ve been waiting for it for a while so it was nice for it to finally happen.”
When asked if he thinks he’s done enough to retain his place in the line up for Tuesday’s visit to Doncaster Rovers, Hooper responded: “I hope I have.
“Obviously at the end of the day that’s down to the gaffer but I hope I have done that.”
