But Mark Grew sees no reason why Vale can't prosper
Vale have back to back home games coming up and will be hoping to get back on track, starting with the game against Carlisle United on Saturday.
Vale then take on early pace-makers Leyton Orient in midweek, another tough fixture for the Valiants, but although Mark Grew concedes that every game is tough, he sees no reason why Vale can’t get up and running once again.
He says: “There are no easy games in this league – everyone is trying to win football matches .
“Carlisle got a great result against Brentford on Saturday and they will be trying to get away from the bottom four or five, to get as far away as they can.
“The Leyton Orient game in midweek is one to look forward to. I want to put one over them to do Wolves a favour and to do us a favour as well.
“We want to beat Leyton Orient on Tuesday. We were unlucky down at their place when we played them back in September and there is nothing to fear.
“We don’t want the season to just disappear because we have achieved so much this year and with back to back home games we can get closer to making sure we stay in this league.
“We have got to take each game as it comes because winning the next football match is vital for all of us, to lift everybody around us and to lift players’ confidence again and it only takes a couple of good results to get the season up and going again.”
