Grew keen to point out Vale's
Vale may have lost their last four games but Assistant Boss Mark Grew insist there is nothing to get too concerned about and the team will be going all out in their next match trying to get back on track.
Any talk of a crisis is well premature with Vale still sitting tenth in the League One table, a position most people thought beyond Vale’s capabilities at the start of the season.
Grew said: “It was always going to be a tough ask to go and get something at Wolves, but now we have got two home games coming up against Carlisle and Leyton Orient.
“Everybody is making this a crisis. I look at the Sheffield United situation and they have been at the bottom, all of a sudden they win five game and they are just below us and everybody is saying it is brilliant.
“Nobody thought that we would be tenth at this time and actually be seventh at one stage, and we reached the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.Now all of a sudden they are questioning us. I find that very difficult to take.“Everybody has expectations, but at the beginning of the season our expectations, or the people around who I spoke to, thought we had just got to stay in this division. That’s what the expectations were.
“We are all disappointed, as staff and players we are all disappointed, but we are in a higher division. What other club hasn’t hit a blip. It is a bit annoying at times when I hear some of the comments.
“We never go into a game trying to lose a game of football. We knew maybe this blip would come some time during the season and it has come now which is disappointing because we were so close.
“It is not a crisis, it would be a crisis if we were in the bottom four, fighting to get out of it. People are making it out to be a crisis, but if we win the next two home games we will be on nearly fifty points and safety, so where is the crisis?
