Vale 'keeper quick to give praise elsewhere
Although the result against Wolves didn’t go the way we had hoped it would, there were positives to take out of the game, especially the first half performance at Molineux.
Vale ‘keeper Chris Neal could do very little about the first Wolves goal, which took a massive deflection before looping over his head.
He conceded another two before facing a spot kick, which would have seen Nouha Dicko claim his hat-trick had he managed to convert it.
Ever-professional and despite it not making a big difference in the grand scheme of things, Neal got down to his right to prevent a fourth Wolves goal, but he doesn’t wish to take all of the credit.
It isn’t the first time he has had success when facing a penalty kick this season and as before, he was quick to credit another member of staff.
Neal said: “It was nice to save another penalty, but in terms of the game it didn’t have an effect on the game.
“I try to keep the score down as much as I can and the penalty save did that, without having a bearing on the game.
“I have spoken before about our Analyst doing his homework for us and it is a massive job for him to do.
“He does that and hands on that information to us and it helps us massively so he should take some of the credit when it works out for us.”
