Steven Jennings and Michael Brown sign for Port Vale

Port Vale are delighted to announce the double swoop of central midfield duo, Steve Jennings and Michael Brown, who have both signed one year deals respectively.

29-year old, Steve Jennings, who has been on trial with the squad since the start of pre-season, impressed Manager Micky Adams during the 3 matches he has taken part in over the past week.

Jennings is an experienced midfielder who has played 358 professional matches during his career, which has seen him at Tranmere Rovers (on two different occasions), Hereford United, Motherwell and Coventry City.

37-year old, Michael Brown, who left Leeds United at the end of last season, has had a long illustrious career which included 156 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, Fulham, Wigan and Portsmouth. He has also made over 100 appearances in the old Division One/Championship.

These two great additions will bring even more experience and quality into the Vale midfield engine room, after the signings of Mark Marshall, Byron Moore, Colin Daniel over recent weeks.

On both signings Adams said:

“We’re delighted to bring both to the Vale. They are two vastly experienced midfield players, who will bring real competition for places in that department.

“Michael will also combine playing with coaching the reserve team when fixtures permit.”

This is not the end of our player recruitment, and we hope to announce a further signing later today.
