O'Connor Agrees Vale Move

Port Vale are delighted to announce that midfielder Michael O’Connor has agreed a one-year deal with the club.

O’Connor who left the promoted Rotherham United at the end of last season, started his career at local rivals Crewe Alexandra before moving to Scunthorpe United where he made 97 appearances for the Lincolnshire side.

He then moved on to Rotherham United where he helped the team reach the Championship with back-to-back promotions, and will be hoping that experience will help Vale improve on last seasons league placing.

On the signing Manager Micky Adams said: -

“Today with the signings of Michael Brown and Steven Jennings, the club have created some good competition for the midfield area and I’m excited about the coming season.

“Michael is a real quality player and I have to say well done to Norman who has worked extremely hard to get this over the line. It looked dead in the water yesterday but he’s resurrected it.

“I’m sure the fans will like what they see when Michael plays because he’s an all-round midfield player. He can pass, he can score goals and he’s really competitive as well.”
