New loan signing doesn't care where he plays
New loan signing Jack Grimmer is hoping Micky Adams will select him to start against Brentford on Saturday and says he wouldn’t mind at what position.
Having played in various positions for Fulham Under 21s and reserves, he just wants to play and feels he can do a good job if called upon.
He said: “I made my debut for Aberdeen up front and then I have played centre midfield and right midfield and pretty much the whole of the right hand side.
“So I think it is a good thing that I am versatile, I can play wherever a manager needs me to play.
“The training has been good but my mind is settling on Saturday and I can’t wait to get in amongst things and hopefully get amongst them.
“Brentford are flying high at the top of the league and I not phased about throwing myself in at the deep end, going away to the league leaders.
“Going into every game, whether it is against the league leaders or not, we will be trying for a clean sheet so hopefully everyone puts in a performance and we come away with a good result.”
“I know Marcello Trotta, who is on loan from Fulham, so it will be good to see him and hopefully he will be in my pocket if I am lucky enough to play.”
Whether he plays at the weekend or not, he is already enjoying his stay at Vale park and feels the experience can only help his game.
He says: “I think I can learn a lot from the coaching staff and the management team helping me and the players that are here have been around a bit and played numerous games between them.
“I think training and playing with players like that will help me develop into a better player.”
