'keeper credits Club Analyst for his penalty save
Vale ‘keeper Chris Neal took the plaudits for his penalty save at Plymouth on Tuesday night, a moment that could easily have turned the game in favour of their hosts.
Neal, however, refused to take all of the credit, revealing that Vale Analyst Dan Thompson tipped him off about Reuben Reid’s penalty technique before the game.
He said: “To be fair to our Analyst, Dan, he gives us a bit of information – he has got videos of penalty takers and penalties they have taken previously.
“He told me he had taken a couple to my right and I go off that information and luckily it paid off the other night.
“Once I had spoken to Dan before the game we knew that Reid was going to be the penalty taker I had made my mind up which way I was going to go.
“If there was a penalty during the game I was always going to go that way and luckily he went that way as well.”
