GREW KNOWS WHAT TO EXPECT

Assistant boss says Bradford have to come to win the game

Following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Oxford Mark Grew was understandably disappointed, but he believes we can start to get things back on track, starting with tonight’s game against Bradford City.

He said: “The most disappointing thing on Saturday was how we conceded the second goal. We looked at it over the weekend and we showed the lads yesterday, we had nine players in the box and they had four.

“You can’t do a lot about individual errors and there’s nobody more disappointed than Darren Purse – he was gutted after the game.

“This isn’t a crisis we are talking about, it’s about trying to get things right for the game against Bradford tonight and we will be looking at a lot of things before deciding on the team and hopefully we will get it right.

“If you play and you have got two or three not firing on all cylinders, you will perhaps get a draw, but when you have six or seven not really producing what you know they can produce, you have got a problem.

“That is what we have probably done in the last few games, we haven’t fired on all cylinders and we have got to put that right

“We have got to fine tune it and hopefully get them working again and get the confidence back and we have got a good chance to do that with back to back home games.

“Bradford have got to come here tonight and win the game. I looked at the league situation and a point tonight is no good to them, they’ll have to come out and try and get the win.

“They got a great result against York on Saturday so they are full of confidence, but we know what to expect, we have played them twice this season and we know we are in for a dogged game.

“They are like us, they have got quite a decent squad and they can switch it around. I looked at their team when we came home on the coach on Saturday and he made a few changes.

“We know they have got a squad which enabled them to make a few changes, but whether we do the same, we will wait and see.”
