Paul Dixon, known affectionately as ‘Dicko,’ has once again demonstrated the incredible generosity and passion of Vale supporters by raising an impressive £4,000 through ‘Dicko’s Fun Bus.’
The supporter-organised travel for first-team away games has not only helped people follow the Valiants on the road but has also contributed significantly to two vital causes.
The funds raised will go towards purchasing kit and equipment for Vale’s pan-disability team, benefiting both staff and volunteers. In addition, the donation will support the club’s ongoing efforts to re-engage former players, many of whom have already returned to Vale Park on matchdays this season.
Port Vale CEO, Matt Hancock, expressed his gratitude for Dicko’s efforts, saying: “We are incredibly grateful for the relationship we and our supporters have with individuals like Dicko, who are the heartbeat of the club and give up countless hours of their time to help others. The money raised is incredible and will go towards two really worthy causes which will only serve to improve Port Vale. We’d like to send our thanks to Dicko and everyone involved.”
Reflecting on the achievement, Dicko acknowledged the collective effort behind the fundraising, adding: “We're really pleased to have raised this money for the club and Foundation, and I have to mention Colin Powell who plays a huge role – we couldn’t do what we do without him. We’re looking forward to continuing to support causes like these.”
With another donation set to be made at the end of the season, Dicko – an active member of the Supporters Club and the club’s Supporters Advisory Board – continues to embody the spirit of the Port Vale community.
