As we gear up for our dedicated Her Game Too fixture against MK Dons this weekend, we are delighted to announce that striker Jayden Stockley has been appointed as an official ambassador for the campaign.
Her Game Too is an award-winning, volunteer-led initiative aimed at tackling sexism in sport and ensuring that football remains an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. The campaign has gained nationwide support from clubs, players and supporters alike, working to promote equality across the footballing community.
In his role as a Her Game Too ambassador, Jayden will actively champion the campaign’s message within the football community. His support will be instrumental in raising awareness, promoting inclusivity and strengthening the relationship between Her Game Too, Port Vale and our supporters.
By joining the Her Game Too team, he will also contribute towards a positive and proactive culture, using his profile and platform to highlight the importance of equality within the game.
Speaking about his involvement, Jayden said: “I’m so proud to have been named as an ambassador for Her Game Too, not only in my capacity as a player for Vale but also as a dad to a young girl, who will be coming along to Saturday’s game. Raising awareness and continuing to grow representation within the game can only be a positive thing and I’m really grateful to have been asked to get involved.”
Sophie Barber, Port Vale’s Her Game Too representative, added: “It’s great to have Jayden on board showing support for the campaign, we want to ensure that football and in particular Vale is a place where everyone feels welcome and safe. We’re excited to be part of Saturday’s game and thank Jayden for his support.”
To mark our Her Game Too fixture, we have a number of special activities planned at Vale Park, including:
- An all-female ball squad, led by volunteer Amanda Jellyman, who is a valued member of the club’s Supporter Advisory Board.
- All-female flag bearers showcasing their support pre-match.
Pitchside photos and key campaign messages displayed on the big screen in the build-up to the game.
- Her Game Too information at our Foundation stall in the fanzone, supported by HGT Club Ambassador and Vale fan, Sophie Barber.
With Port Vale Women also going from strength to strength and looking ahead to a cup final against Stoke City in April, we’re extremely proud to support Her Game Too and look forward to celebrating the campaign at Vale Park!
