Port Vale Football Club are delighted to announce that Sam Hart has agreed a two-year deal with The Valiants, subject to EFL and FA approval.
The agreement will see the 27-year-old left back join Darren Moore’s side upon the expiry of his existing contract with Sutton United.
Hart will be no stranger to the Vale faithful following a brief loan spell with the club from Liverpool back in 2016, prior to a permanent move to Championship side, Blackburn Rovers.
As a youngster plying his trade in professional football, Hart would enjoy loan moves to Rochdale, Southend United and Shrewsbury Town before rejoining Southend United from Blackburn Rovers on a permanent basis in 2020.
A season with The Shrimpers would be followed by a move to Oldham Athletic under then-manager, Keith Curle, scoring his only goal for the club against The Valiants!
In 2022, Hart joined up with Sutton United on a two-year deal and would go on to pick up the Supporters’ Club Player of the Season for his performances throughout the 2023-24 campaign.
Speaking of his latest summer addition, Port Vale Manager Darren Moore said:
“Sam is an athletic full back with a combative nature who will bring a good balance to our back line.
“Following a number of conversations with Sam, it was easy to see that he has bought in to what we are building here at Port Vale, a competitive squad that the supporters can be proud of and confident in to represent them week in, week out.
“We are all looking forward to welcoming Sam into the club and working with him over the coming seasons.”
