Club Statement | Reports of Racist Abuse inside Vale Park

Vale Park Main Entrance

We were extremely angered and disappointed to learn of an alleged instance of racism during yesterday’s Emirates FA Cup match against Barnsley, and have since taken swift action to deal with the individual in question after establishing all available information.

Our stance on the matter is clear: discrimination and abuse of any kind will not be tolerated. Those found to have displayed such behaviour have no place at Port Vale and will - without exception - receive an indefinite ban from attending future matches.

As several clubs across the country have stated in recent weeks, we too have simply had enough of hearing about similar incidents at English football grounds. This behaviour - at a time when we are collectively and proudly shining a light on the EFL’s Together Against Racism campaign - goes against everything we stand for, and we will continue to work to eliminate it from our game.

We would ask that anyone with information about any such incidents please contact us directly via security@port-vale.co.uk Reports will remain confidential.

When inside Vale Park, supporters who hear abusive, racist or homophobic languages or witness unacceptable behaviour are asked to send a text to 07801216675, stating the stand where the incident takes place, a time, seat row and number if possible, as well as any other pertinent details.
