Port Vale FC are delighted to announce the signing of striker Ryan Loft from Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
Loft, 25, puts pen to paper on a two-year deal that will see him stay with the Valiants until at least the summer of 2025.
The 6ft 3in striker started his career at Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 before joining Braintree Town on a work experience loan in 2016.
Following the expiration of his Tottenham Hotspur contract, Loft would go on to sign for then Premier League side, Leicester City at the end of the 2017/2018 season and would join Carlisle United on loan for the duration of the 2019/2020 season where he scored four goals in 26 appearances.
Following the conclusion of the 2019/2020 season, Loft went on to join Scunthorpe United on a two-year contract, playing 56 times and scoring 12 goals prior to signing for Bristol Rovers in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee.
Speaking of the signing of Ryan Loft, Port Vale manager Andy Crosby said:
“I am excited to welcome Ryan into our group. He adds a different profile to the strikers we have currently in our squad.”
“Ryan is at a good age where he is still developing as a player and we look forward to welcoming him into an environment where he will have all of the required tools at his disposal to fulfill his obvious potential and flourish.”
Port Vale FC Director of Football David Flitcroft said:
"We have been chasing Ryan throughout the summer, so I am delighted to finally be able to say that he is now a Port Vale player.
"Ryan’s attributes will improve the squad’s quality at the top end of the pitch with his willingness to run unselfishly for the team, creating space or pressing the opposition aggressively.
"His holdup will be an important part of progressing the team up the pitch and linking our midfield and attacking unit.
"We feel that our environment can give Ryan a platform where he can develop his game through the support of the manager and his backroom team. I believe that we are the club to allow Ryan to realise his potential.
"I would like to go on record and thank Ryan’s agent Chris Dolan for all his help and support in working to get this deal done."
