Oliver Arblaster recalled by Sheffield United

We can confirm that midfielder Ollie Arblaster has been recalled by his parent club, Sheffield United.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined the Valiants for the first loan move of his career in July and became a firm fan favourite with his technical ability and natural skill.

Ollie made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Valiants, finding the back of the net on two occasions and also assisting twice.

Vale Manager, Andy Crosby said: “We’d like to thank Sheffield United for trusting us with Ollie’s development, he has shown that he has all of the natural ability to make a name for himself in the world of football and they will be receiving a more well-rounded player that will be equipped with the confidence and experience of men’s football.

“I’d also like to personally thank Michael Collins (U21 coach) and Kenny Black (Loans Manager) for their excellent communication throughout Ollie’s loan.

“I want to wish Ollie all the best for his future in football and I’m looking forward to watching him grow into the player we know he will be.”

Director of Football, David Flitcroft added: “Firstly I want to give our sincerest thank you to Sheffield United for making the loan happen and entrusting us with one of their future stars.

“Over the last three years, we have been working hard with Premier League clubs to present to them in the hope of bringing in best-of-class loans, and we are now seen as an outstanding home for some of the country's top talent.

“Ollie has been a model professional since joining us on the first day of our pre-season training camp in Spain and has adapted to regular first-team football brilliantly.

“His football intelligence, infectious personality hard work, enthusiasm on and off the pitch has earned him several call-ups to the England Under-20 Squad during his time with us.

“Ollie gave us everything he had and even though he has undoubted technical ability to play at the highest level, what earned him great admiration from our supporters was his work ethic and desire for our club.

“We now look forward to watching his development in club football and international football from afar.

“Ollie and his family are always welcome back at the club and we hope they enjoyed watching Ollie’s time at Vale Park.”

We'd like to thank Ollie for the time he has spent at Vale Park and wish him nothing but success for the future.
