Match Report | Blackpool 0-0 Port Vale

Goalless at Bloomfield Road as the Valiants pick up our first away point of the season.

The early stages were controlled by the Valiants with Alex Iacovitti having the first opportunity of the game on six minutes as he saw his header from inside the area just go over the crossbar.

Ethan Chislett was next to test his luck on ten minutes forcing a good save from Dan Grimshaw who parried the ball away for a corner. From the following corner the Valiants forced the ball home but just like last Saturday, the linesman’s flag ruled the goal out.

Chislett would try again five minutes later but the midfielder dragged his shot wide of the post.

Again, it was Vale with all the chances around the half hour mark. Gavin Massey ran through on goal with only one defender in his path but his powerful strike from outside of the area went wide of Grimshaw’s goal.

It took 51 minutes for the hosts to threaten Connor Ripley’s goal. The strike came from Albie Morgan inside the area who managed to control the bouncing ball and get a shot off but his effort was straight at the Vale keeper.

The Seasiders had a lot more of the ball in the second half but failed to make Ripley work.

Blackpool substitute Jake Beesley had an opportunity to snatch the game in the 90th minute but his header from close range went too high.
