Neil Aspin hopes that his side can continue their excellent recent home form with a victory against Yeovil Town on Saturday.
Port Vale will return back to Vale Park in hope of getting three points in League Two as they face the Glovers for the fourth time this season.
The gaffer hopes that the Valiants can replicate their victories over Coventry City and Luton Town on Saturday, but will only come away with a victory if his side work hard.
He said: “I’ve said from when I’ve come in that players need to work hard and put in a shift every game.
“If they do that, they are more than capable to pick up points. That’s what has shown in our games, but we can’t take anyone for granted so we need to play to our best and do it consistently.
“If we do that, we will pick up points. But, nobody will give us points and we’re still in a relegation fight so we have to get enough points to be safe.”
Despite where the two sides are in the league for Saturday, the gaffer says that it doesn’t matter on the position but as long as Vale give their all, they can come away with a victory.
“All I know is that we’re playing a team that’s on the up in terms of confidence and have had two good wins in the cup,” said Aspin.
“Everybody is desperate to play in the Manchester United game so they will get a knock-on effect from that. We’re up against 11 players who are trying to impress because they will all want to be playing in that game.
“It’s certainly made our task more difficult and we will have to work hard to get anything out of the game.”
