Bruno Reflects On Gillingham Win

Bruno Ribeiro certainly is enjoying his start to life at Port Vale, as his team picked up another three points this weekend.

Bruno arrived in the summer and created a fresh start with an influx of new players and coaches in order to help Vale in every way possible.

The manager has set the record for the best start to a season at Vale Park with a win against Gillingham and continues to go from strength to strength.

Speaking after the game he said how fantastic the players have been and that his ‘family’ continue to work every day.

He said: “This game is for the players they were fantastic.

“We work every day and it’s fantastic for me and it is for them because they work very, very good and on the pitch we see it as a family and a team.

“We prepare to win every game and at home five wins is fantastic, we will keep going, it’s good for us and the supporters because they help us so much.”

Despite picking up the win, it wasn’t the greatest of starts to a game for Vale as they went into the break 1-0 down.

Bruno told how he spoke to his players at half-time in the dressing room about being able to win the game.

He added: “In the first half we didn’t play well, we were to slow and we spoke about it at half time and I said we can go and win this game if we play with high tempo and pressure.

“And, in the second half it’s different, it’s good character and determination from the players and good attitude and now we’ve won we are in the top six again which is important for us and the players.”
