Loan Watch

It was another good week for Ryan Boot, as he played in his third consecutive game for Worcester City.

Boot helped Worcester to only their third clean sheet of the 2016/17 season, all since Ryan joined the club, meaning he has yet to concede since his loan move.

After the game, City boss Carl Heeley had this to say on the performances of Ryan:

He said: “He comes and takes balls that help out take the pressure off the back four and that’s brilliant to have as a defender.”

In League One, striker JJ Hooper was an unused substitute, as Northampton fell to defeat for the first time this season, losing 3-1 to Chesterfield.

Ryan Lloyd played in another 90 minutes of football for Chester this weekend in the National League, as they beat Braintree Town 1-0.

The win saw the Blues steer away from danger above the relegation zone and move closer towards mid-table.

Elsewhere, in the National League, Sam Johnson was an unused substitute as Gateshead drew 0-0 at home with Solihull Moors.

To Leek Town and James Gibbons made his debut, going straight into the starting eleven, but he was unable to prevent his new side being knocked out of the FA Cup, losing 2-1 to Sheffield.

Also, it was a first start for Billy Reeves, who returned to Witton Albion on loan, playing 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw with Stalybridge Celtic.

Finally, it was disappointment for Dan Turner and Kidsgrove Athletic,. Turner played all 90 minutes, as they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Matlock Town, losing 2-1.
