Port Vale travelled to The Valley last Saturday to fall to their sixth defeat on the road this season.
Despite having the better of the possession, Vale we unable to rectify the two goal deficit they had suffered before the break.
Defender Remie Streete spoke exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD after game about the performance: “We came here before the game looking for three points and nothing less. I feel we dominated 70% of the game, but they put the ball in the back of the net and unfortunately we didn’t.”
Streete was not slow to recognise what parts of their game they can improve upon for the future: “There’s a few times I noticed that a few passes that were on were then turned down by a few players. Whether that’s due to a lack of confidence I don’t know.
The ex-Newcastle United man continued: “But when we have the chance to play the ball into our wingers, who are both very good, we need to utilise them. But I’m sure it’ll be something we will work on for the future.”
Despite the defeat, Streete is full confidence going into the looming run of games, and expects to regain some form: “Today was the second game in a run where we can seriously pick up some points, but unfortunately it didn’t work out today. We will be looking to put that right on Tuesday and then again on Saturday.”
Vale face the travelling Oldham Athletic on Tuesday, and will be looking to snatch all three points.
