Jak Alnwick Commits Future To Port Vale

Port Vale are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract.

The deal will keep the 22-year-old, who signed for the Valiants after being released by Newcastle United, at the club until the summer of 2018.

Alnwick has made 16 appearances for Vale so far this season and has impressed with solid performances and top quality saves.

He is in line to face his brother Ben this weekend when Rob Page’s side takes on Peterborough United in Sky Bet League One action.

The manager told port-vale.co.uk: “We’re absolutely delighted to have secured the future of Jak.

“From the very first day he joined the club his talents were obvious and his performances have backed that up. This is a real coup for the football club.”

Chairman Norman Smurthwaite added: “I’m very pleased to have this deal over the line.

“Jak is not only a top player but a really great person who has fitted in very well at Port Vale.”
