Port Vale winger Enoch Andoh could miss the rest of the season with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.
The 22-year-old picked up the knock to his knee in the Valiants 2-1 loss at Colchester United last week.
The Ghana international has broken into Rob Page’s first team this season having impressed for the reserves last term.
He scored his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw with Peterborough United at Vale Park earlier this month.
However, he will now be out of action for a considerable period, which could see him miss the entirety of the current campaign, the manager has confirmed.
Speaking to port-vale.co.uk, Page said: “As it stands at the minute, it’s his ACL so ordinarily that’s an end of the season.
“It’s not great news for him but he’s having a second opinion again. We’ve had a couple of scans, both have come back and said the same.
“It’s more for peace of mind for the player that we have the second one so it’s not great news for him because he was just finding that bit of form as well.
“But I’m sure the fans will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery now and we’ll do our very best to get him back to full fitness.”
