Manager Rob Page was delighted with the impact of his substitutes as Port Vale scored twice late on to see off Blackpool.
Sam Kelly, Chris Birchall and Uche Ikpeazu came on in the second half and each had a say in at least one of the Valiants’ goals.
Ajay Leitch-Smith continued his hot streak as he netted the opener, sending Vale on their way to a fourth successive Sky Bet League One win.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD after the game, Page praised the mark his changes from the bench made against the Seasiders.
“We knew it wasn’t just going to be about the starting eleven tonight, it was going to be about the subs and I thought they had a massive impact on the game.
“Sam Kelly’s through ball for Ajay’s goal and Birchy getting a goal as well which I’m really pleased with.
“He’s a model pro, Birchy, he’s a great lad to have around the changing room, not a minute’s problem and to see someone like him come on and help us get the three points today was a great achievement as well.”
