Vale Swoop To Secure Streete Signature

Port Vale are delighted to confirm the signing of Remie Streete on a two-year deal.

The defender left former club Newcastle United by mutual consent last month and becomes Rob Page’s second signing of the day following the acquisition of Sam Kelly.

The 20-year-old spent time on-loan with the Valiants last season, making three appearances for the first team, but was recalled early by the Magpies.

He then became one of five Newcastle players to be loaned to Scottish side Glasgow Rangers.

Manager Rob Page is delighted to have secured Streete’s signature and sees the addition of the centre back as a massive coup.

He told port-vale.co.uk: “We’re really pleased to have signed up Remie. He’s a very good player with a lot of potential – something we saw when he was last with us.

“Remie, along with Sam who we also signed today, is now part of the bright future we are building at this football club.

“We were very impressed when he was last with us and we made him one of our top summer targets so to have him in the building is brilliant.”
