Midfielder Speaks To Valiant Player After Win
- Dodds delighted with victory over Gillingham at Vale Park
- The 28-year-old was deployed just behind the striker by Rob Page
- Vale midfielder thinks fans are now seeing the best of him
Louis Dodds is pleased to be getting a chance in his ‘preferred position’ just behind the striker and thinks Port Vale fans are starting to see the best of him again.
The 28-year-old has started the Valiants’ last four games playing just behind Ben Williamson in attack and has formed a strong partnership with the forward.
The duo were effective against Gillingham on Saturday, combining to create numerous chances for each other and their teammates.
Speaking exclusively to Valiant Player after the win over the Kent outfit, Dodds admitted he is relishing his current run in the team in the ‘number ten’ role.
“I’m really enjoying it. I think if you ask anyone what my preferred position is, it is in the hole where you get on the ball and you create things,” he said.
“I think everyone is seeing the best side of me now and I think sometimes if you get played out wide you drift out of games but playing in the hole the game is always around you.”
