The 145-mile bike ride, which starts at Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium and finishes at AFC Ajax, is geared towards raising awareness and money for charity.

Jonathan will be joined by a number of former footballers and celebrities on the trip as part of the #MenUnited team, including former Ipswich Town and Republic of Ireland midfielder Matthew Holland.

“I was approached by the club to represent the club and do this charity bike ride,” Jonathan said in an interview with port-vale.co.uk.

“For me it has particular personal meaning because I have a family member who is currently suffering with advanced stages of cancer and has now gone into final stages of cancer.

“So for me it is to acknowledge the sterling work the charity do, raise awareness and at the same time raise some much-needed funds for the charity."
