Geoff Morris has sadly passed away aged 66
Geoff Morris RIP
We were sad to hear of the death of former Vale winger Geoff Morris, who has passed away at the age of 66.
February 1949, he began his football career with Walsall in 1965 and was their youngest ever player when he made his debut aged 16. He made over 200 apps for them before moving to Shrewsbury Town in 1973. He then had a short spell with Bangor City before joining the Vale, then managed by Roy Sproson, for a fee of £200 in August 1975.thBorn in West Bromwich on 8
He made his debut for the Vale in a 0-0 draw at Hereford United in August 1975 and scored his only goal for us a month later in a 1-1 home draw with Brighton. He made 17 appearances altogether during the 1975/76 season before being released on a free transfer. During his time at the Vale he lived for a spell in a caravan.
His next port of call was Kidderminster Harriers and then in 1977 and 1978 he moved to Australia to play for the Brisbane Lions.
Our condolences go to his family and friends.
