Club Involved With Local Community Project

Two Football Tournaments Held In The Local Area

Port Vale have been involved with a local community project in the delivery of two football tournaments in the Easter holidays.

With partners Engage Communities and Staffordshire Police, the club has helped to provide activities for young people in the local area.

Over 600 boys aged 12-18 took part during two sessions involving 60 teams, with the club providing trophies and 30 tickets to the Preston North End and MK Dons matches.

Chris Taylor, who is Head of Education at Port Vale, said: “It has been particularly pleasing that the tournaments have attracted boys from all the local districts in Burslem and Tunstall.

“This partnership is planning to run a cricket tournament in the summer and further football events once the new season begins.”
