Regarding reports about one of the referee's assistants at our game at Fleetwood
Following an enquiry by Port Vale Chairman Norman Smurthwaite regarding the appointment of one of the match officials for our game at the weekend, the Football League have issued the following statement:
“The Football League is satisfied with the integrity of all its match officials. In this case the assistant referee does not live in Fleetwood and has no link to Fleetwood Town Football Club.”
Football Club accept the statement and now consider the matter closed. Questions had been asked after it was revealed one of the referee’s assistants appeared to have links with the Lancashire club, but this was not the case and Port Vale
