We take a quick look at Bolton Wanderers

DATE:Wednesday 30th July
KICK OFF:7.45pm
Vale ParkVENUE:

In the first of two pre-season friendlies to be played at Vale Park before the new season kicks off in earnest, Vale step up their preparations with a game against Championship opposition in Bolton Wanderers.
The last time the two sides met here at Vale Park was back in February 2000 when Wanderers left with all three points following a 1-0 win, and they went on to complete the double over Vale later that season.
In fact Vale haven’t managed to get the better of the Trotters in their last 13 meetings – the last time Vale tasted success was when they knocked Wanderers out of the FA Cup in December 1988, with a 2-1 win at Burnden Park.
Having finished in mid-table last season, Bolton will no doubt be looking to improve on that in the coming season and will certainly hope to start the season on a high.
Although the game is a friendly, both managers will be taking things seriously and will be looking to take something from the game as their final preparations take shape.
For many supporters, it will be the first opportunity to take a look at Micky Adams’ summer signings just ten days before the start of the new season.
