Vale midfielder would rather have the three points on Saturday
Ryan Burge is relishing the opportunity to play against Edgar Davids at Barnet on Saturday, if selected and says even now, the Dutchman brings a lot to the Bees’ team.
The Vale midfielder said: “I watched him play in World Cups when I was younger and I am sure at one point he was the best central midfielder in the world.
“He is a lot older now but he is bringing a lot to that team and while he is playing in League Two for them, you can’t be taking Barnet for granted.
“He is a very good player, you just have to look what he has done in his career.
“He will be doing his best for Barnet, but we are top of the league and we go into the game as favourites, but we have got to be one hundred per cent on it.
“It is dangerous if you go in there and think you can just turn up and you can win the game.
“If you go in there and do things right and do things like you have been doing all season then it’s not dangerous. We are where we are for a reason and we want to keep that going.
“I don’t think Edgar Davids will be asking me to swap shirts after the game on Saturday, but to be honest I want the three points more than I want his shirt.”
