WINGER LOOKING FOWARD TO BARNET

Ashley Vincent looking for another three points

Winger Ashley Vincent says he and his team mates are expecting another tough game when they take on Struggling Barnet at Underhill on Saturday.

Some supporters are expecting it to be an easy game for the Vale, given that Barnet are struggling at the wrong end of the table, but Vincent knows it is not as simple as that.

He said: “It is not straight forward. We played Wimbledon the other week at their place and they went two-nil up against us.

“Barnet are fighting for their lives and they won’t want to get relegated out of the league and it will be a tough game.

“They have got a star in their camp and there will be a bit of hype surrounding them, but we will go there with confidence.

“We have won our last two games three-nil and we need to go there, put on a good performance, score some goals and make sure we come from there with some sort of a result.”

Vale will face Edgar Davids on Saturday. It’s not the first time Davids has played againt the Vale of course, he was in the Tottenham side that knocked Vale out of the Carling Cup at White Hart Lane back in 2006.

Although he may not be the player he used to be, he still has a presence about him and the Vale midfielders are looking forward to the challenge they face.

Vincent continued: “I think for somebody like Doug Loft, Ryan Burge, Sam Morsy or whoever sits in there against Edgar Davids, it’s a feather in your cap if you can get one over on him.

“He has been a star and a top drawer player, but he plays in League Two in England now and it is eleven versus eleven and we are top of the league so we should be going into the game with confidence, which we will do, and hopefully come away with the points."
