Young Valiants participate at Keele
Port Vale will have an active presence at next week’s Keele Cup, which is the largest youth football tournament in the UK.
Over 300 teams from 20 countries will take part in the competition, which runs from July 24-27 at Keele University’s elite sports facilities.
All of Port Vale’s youth age-groups will also be taking part in the competition, in addition to teams from the Premier League and other Football League sides.
Vale will have a stand selling club merchandise at the tournament, following the club’s successful involvement in 2012.
Thanks to help from The Potteries Shopping Centre, Port Vale has also distributed a number of tickets to young players taking part in the Keele Cup, with participants set to visit Tuesday night’s home friendly against Leicester City.
Commercial Director, John Booth, said: “As the club closest to Keele University, the home of the Keele Cup, it’s essential that we ensure that as many people as possible have an introduction to Port Vale, if they aren’t already familiar with the club.
“We look forward to welcoming some of the participants in the Keele Cup to Vale Park on Tuesday evening, as well as meeting young players throughout the duration of the competition next week. In addition, we wish all of our youth age-groups the very best of luck in the competition.”
