Port Vale are pleased to announce that Bury midfielder Scott Burgess has agreed to sign for the club on a one year deal.
A product of the Bury youth system, the 21-year-old has made 22 first team appearances for The Shakers and was part of Askey's Macclesfield Town side that won promotion to League Two in 2018.
Burgess spent this season on loan at Wrexham and York City and also spent three months on loan at Norwegian club Bersoy in 2016.
The young midfielder is the first new signing to be confirmed by the club heading into the 2019/20 campaign, and manager John Askey is pleased to have been able to bring Burgess to Vale Park.
"He's a player that I've had before and he's a good lad. He's got the potential to break into the first team so hopefully, he can do that.
"We're giving him a chance to show that he's got what it takes to perform in a Vale shirt and find the form he's showed at previous clubs. Hopefully he can make the breakthrough."
