We are delighted to announce that Port Vale's Player of the Year, Scott Brown, has signed a contract extension with the club.
The goalkeeper has put pen to paper on an extension that will keep him at Vale Park until 2021. Brown has proved himself to be a huge player for the Vale and in a very difficult season has put in some outstanding performances, keeping an incredible 16 clean sheets.
His debut season at Vale Park has been a fine one to say the least and was rewarded at the Awards Night on Saturday, where Browny swept the board and picked up four awards including Players' Player of the Year and Player of the Year.
Penalty saves against Mansfield Town and MK Dons are just two of many fantastic moments Brown has had in goal for the Vale. Manager John Askey believes the Vale wouldn't have survived in the league without him and is delighted his extended his contract at the club.
"It's a massive boost for the club and I'm so pleased that we've been able to tie him down for another year after the season he's had where he could've quite easily moved on elsewhere.
"He's been outstanding since I arrived at the club. His professionalism on and off the pitch is admirable and it's like I said, we would've been in deep trouble this season without him.
"It's a real big positive and hopefully this is just the start of sorting out contracts for certain players."
