Rob Page: ‘We’ve Got To Believe In Each Other’

Boss Wants Successful Easter Period

reckons belief will play a big part in Port Vale turning their current form around, starting on Good Friday against Colchester United. Rob PageManager

The 40-year-old is currently preparing his players for the visit of the U’s, who are fighting to keep their Sky Bet League One status in tact.

Tony Humes’ men are currently sitting second from bottom in the table, while three points for Vale would be a big step towards ensuring safety after four consecutive losses.

Byron Moore and Francisco Junior will miss the clash through injury while Chris Neal is suspended but Page feels his squad contains enough quality to deal with those absences.

Speaking to Valiant Player in the lead-up to the game, the Vale boss insisted everyone is determined to put an end to the slide in form.

“We need to end this run of games we’re on and it will happen, we’ve just got to believe in each other as a group and it will come.

“Maybe we need a little bit of luck to change things for us but it will come and it is a big game because it’s the next one.

“Colchester are second from bottom and fighting for their lives as well and they’ll be hard opponents on Friday.

“But we believe that if we give a level of performance that we’ve given against the better teams this season then we’re confident of giving ourselves the best chance of getting the win.”
